Tiny Toy Yorkshire Terriers
According to American Kennel Club, toy Yorkies are one of the most popular dog breeds. While doing a search, you are sure to find registered Yorkies from 2 1/2 lbs to 15 lbs. Due to these various weights, many use the term teacup and tiny as a description for the smaller sized Yorkies. Even though the AKC show standard calls for adult yorkies to have a weight of 4 to 7 lbs, registration is not withheld if their weight does not fall within this range. You will also come across teacup yorkie ads but these puppies are out of 12 lb parents and weigh 3-4 lbs at 8 weeks. Yorkie puppies 8 weeks old out of 4 lb parents, weigh around 1 to 1 1/2 lbs and will be much smaller than the ones out of the larger size parents.
We love our boys tiny size. He always jumps up and down and wants to be picked up and loves to be carried around. Being light weight, its not a problem at all. Tiny dogs don't eat alot, make smaller messes, travel well, and can easily fit in your pocketbook.
